I'm confident that I've read that Slic3r can recreate recipes (sets of slicing parameters - like "print, printer, and filament/extruder") from the header and footer comments in a verbose gcode file, but I've never done it, and I can't find documentation.

Am I misremembering, or can someone point me to instructions?

  • $\begingroup$ Can you clarify what you mean by recipes? Do you mean extracting information about the slicing profile? $\endgroup$ Mar 23, 2022 at 14:44
  • $\begingroup$ Some slicers put that information as plain text comments right in the gcode header / footer. You should be able to look through the file with a text browser and see your self if it is there. $\endgroup$

  • $\begingroup$ That's why I said "from the header and footer comments in a verbose gcode file". I thought there was some tool in slic3r to read that info and recreate recipes from it. That's what I'm asking for - does it actually exist, and if so, how do I access it. $\endgroup$
