Timeline for PLA Jamming- is the heat break too hot or too cold?

Jun 22, 2021 at 9:12 | comment | added | ChinchillaWafers | With the plexi hood off, the extruder still knocks/skips steps when I’m just testing the extruder, purging the filament. This is after it’s been heated a couple minutes. Of note is the wall between the cool end and the part cooling fan has several holes in it. The part cooling fan moves extra air on the cool end fins. The default PLA profile runs the fan 100%, I had some warping (even with the enclosure) so I turned it down to 50%. I’ll try it blasting full again. If so maybe that would prove the hotend fan alone isn’t moving enough air? | |
